Former UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya took on rising French contender Nassourdine Imavov in the main event of a UFC Fight Night event in Saudi Arabia. Imavov managed to knock out Adesanya 30 seconds into the second round, following a close first round.

The former champion is now on a three-fight losing streak and appears to have little to no chance of competing for the title again.

Imavov’s last defeat came against Sean Strickland, a fighter set to challenge for the title at UFC 312. In his last five fights, Imavov has remained undefeated, winning four, with the fifth being ruled a no contest due to a clash of heads.

What's next for Adesanya? Adesanya will most likely never fight for a championship again. However, this could be an opportunity for him to either face up-and-coming prospects or take on big-name fighters in high-profile bouts.

What’s next for Imavov. Imavov likely needs one more win before securing a title shot. His next opponent should ideally be the loser of Sean Strickland vs. Dricus Du Plessis or Robert Whittaker, as either would serve as a legitimate test for the Frenchman.
